What kind of people are Apple Families?

Most of our clients are “double-income families,” in which both parents work outside of the home. They are caring parents who want the best for their children but lead very busy lives and so require professional caregivers who can act as their substitutes while they are away from home. We screen our families carefully to ensure that they are fair and reasonable and can offer you a secure environment in which to work.

How long does the placement & immigration process take?

Depending on the family we place you with, you may be able to begin working once the processing has been completed. From start to finish, it currently takes somewhere between 3 to 4 months from Hong Kong to Canada.

How much will you earn as a full-time nanny?

Nannies typically work forty hours a week and are paid according to Provincial standards less room and board. You can expect to earn between $1400.00 to $1850.00 per month minus room and board for a 40 hour work week.

What else can you be expected to do?

In addition to childcare, nannies often assist families with cooking and light housekeeping.

Can I apply for Canadian citizenship?

The possibility is open. When you have met your working requirements under the Live-In Caregiver Program you could then apply for permanent resident status. We’ll be glad to help you get started when the time comes.
